Choral Celebration Of The Feast Of The Transfiguration At Saint Mark's Locust Street

Choir of Girton College, Cambridge
Choral High Mass for the Feast of the Transfiguration will be sung at Saint Mark's, Locust Street on Thursday, 6 August at 7 pm.
The service will be sung by the Choir of Girton College, Cambridge, a choir of women and men, directed by Dr. Dana Marsh. The preacher for the evening will be Dr. James Walters, a Curate of Hampstead Parish Church in London.
The Choir will sing the Messe Solonnelle by Jean Langlais as well as William Harris's great anthem Faire Is The Heaven and a setting of Panis Angelicus - Pierre Villette.

The website for Girton College Chapel Choir (http://www.girtoncollegechoir.com) says that the choir, "...has been growing in prominence at home and abroad over the last ten years, a distinction confirmed by the prizes it won in the 1999 Takarazuka International Competition in Japan. These included the Gold Medal in the mixed chorus division and a special prize awarded by the conductor of the Vienna Boys' Choir to the ensemble deemed to produce the best sound. The choir is made up of about 24 choral scholars and volunteers drawn from a number of different colleges. Most are undergraduates; together they represent a very wide range of disciplines."
