Lenten Food Drive

For those of you who aren't aware, St. Peter's Church on 3rd and Pine Streets has maintained a food pantry for more than 20 years. Lately they have begun to reach out to other parishes for assistance in carrying out this important ministry.
Their clients are not homeless but are poor. This year they lost one of their major canned food donors which has made their mission more difficult at a time when demands on the Food Cupboard have been increasing.
In an effort to help them we are going to run an ongoing collection of canned goods specifically protein such as powdered milk, tuna, peanut butter, canned soups or stews and things of this nature.
