St. Luke's Volunteers
11/30/2009
On Saturday, November 21, The St. Luke's Volunteers will be planting trees in West Philly, as part of UC Green's TreeVitalize Tree Planting Day.
All ages and skill levels are welcome, no experience in tree planting necessary. They'll offer us guidance, as well as providing all tools and gloves. They will also provide us with a t-shirt and lunch too. With the help of volunteers like us, UC Green hopes to plant 150 trees that day.
Attendees should wear an old outfit (lots of dirt involved)and sturdy footwear.
The event begins at 9 a.m. and goes until 12 p.m. at the Kingsessing Recreation Center at 51st and Chester Ave in West Philly.

Children are welcome, but UC Green asks that they must be closely supervised, said the organization's event coordinator.
If you are interested in volunteering, please RSVP to Jeff Boles by Sunday November 15th.
Also, due to some scheduling issues, The St. Luke's Volunteers had to push back the Adopt a Room project at Mercy Hospice until the spring.
However we are still collecting toiletries, such as travel sized shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and the like, until the end of this month, for the families at Mercy Hospice. Please donate! A collection box is in the Narthex.
